Digital CCTV Systems

What is Digital CCTV?

Digital CCTV, or Digital Closed Circuit Television, is the technology used in modern surveillance systems. Modern Digital CCTV Systems can be operated on site or remotely via a pc or mobile phone, can monitor various locations and can be monitored from wherever there is internet or GPRS Access. Currently the majority of CCTV systems use Digital technology. Digital CCTV Surveillance uses current PC technology to digitize the CCTV camera images and compress them into a PC friendly format. These digital images can then be stored onto a standard PC Hard Disk Drive.

As the digital CCTV images are stored onto a PC Hard Drive it is possible to store digital footage and access it speedily and easily using a LAN/WAN connection or remotely over broadband using a PC or Mobile Phone.

Digital Sprite

We specialise in the installation of sophisticated network digital recording systems with audio capability and an internal DVD/CD-RW Writer. The Hard Disc Drive(s) can record images either continuously, by alarm trigger or via VMD, (video motion detection). Email notification upon motion detection is just one of the many features possible.

Each Camera input record rate (fps) can be individually programmable and you can search for data by means of event, location or time/date simply by the click of a button.

Each PC connected upon an internal LAN connection can view the CCTV Cameras and retrieve data. Connections are password protected and logged for added security.

View your CCTV Cameras remotely from anywhere in the world!

Digital Video Recorders (DVR)

Digital Video Recorder

Digital CCTV Video Recorders, (DVR's), are stand-alone units that are capable of saving digital CCTV images to a PC. DVR's look similar to a standard Video Cassete Recorders (VCR's).

CCTV Cameras are connected to the back of the unit via standard CCTV Camera connection referred to as BNC. By connecting a CCTV Monitor or TFT Screen to the DVR you are able to view your CCTV Cameras in different screen divisions (single camera, 2x2, 3x3 etc) and also playback footage at the click of a mouse.

Almost all DVR's now have built in VMD, Motion Detection Technology. This means that digital footage is only recorded when someone or something walks/moves in front of your CCTV Camera. It is also possible with some DVR's to view your CCTV cameras remotely using a PC via a Broadband ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) connection or certain Mobile Phone with 3G capability.

PC Based Digital Video Surveillance Capture Cards

Digital Video Surveillance Capture Card

PC Based Digital CCTV Surveillance systems are a reasonably new technology in the CCTV Industry. This type of Digital CCTV system utilizes a digital CCTV surveillance capture card and software. A PC is required which if connected to this Software (or program), will allow you to view your Digital CCTV Cameras, search through previously recorded footage, backup footage to CD/DVD, control PTZ Cameras either on the PC system or remotely and much more. Cameras are attached to the back of the Capture Card using the standard BNC connection used in the CCTV industry. The type of capture card required depends on two things, 1) The amount of Cameras required, and 2) the frame rate required (fps).

Remote CCTV Monitoring

Remote CCTV Monitoring

Once configured upon an ASDL Broadband Router, your Digital CCTV System will be accessible from anywhere in the world. You will be able to view each of your CCTV Cameras over broadband using a Laptop, PC or Mobile Phone*. Alternatively, you may simply wish for our Central Station to monitor your premises CCTV System.

∗ Our Mobile Phone software operates on 3G, GPRS, EDGE or HSDPA using sure-link over ADSL.

Our Central Station can monitor your CCTV System 24 Hours a day and listen/talk back to site

ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition)
Vehicle Recognition CCTV

This technology is gaining popularity in security and traffic installations. The technology concept assumes that all vehicles already have the identity displayed (the plate!) so no additional transmitter or responder is required to be installed on the car.

The system uses illumination (such as Infra-red) and a camera to take the image of the front or rear of the vehicle, then an image-processing software analyzes the images and extracts the plate information. This data is used for enforcement, data collection, and (as in the access-control system featured above) can be used to open a gate if the car is authorized or keep a time record on the entry or exit for automatic payment calculations.

The LPR system significant advantage is that the system can keep an image record of the vehicle which is useful in order to fight crime and fraud ("an image is worth a thousand words"). An additional camera can focus on the driver face and save the image for security reasons. Additionally, this technology does not need any installation per car (such as in all the other technologies that require a transmitter added on each car or carried by the driver).
The Videofit is the first vehicle recognition system to provide cost-effective, highly accurate number plate recognition straight out of the box.

Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) is no longer the preserve of the police and high security sites, but is now available to any small or medium size business with a need to monitor or control vehicle movements.
If you need to manage parking, detect unknown vehicles or just welcome staff and visitors with a custom message, check what Videofit can do for your business.

• verified ANPR accuracy of 98-99%
• captures vehicles up to 120mph
• records ANPR-M recognition movies or single images
• vehicle & driver database included
• typically stores 1 month’s activity
• automatic barrier control & message sign options
• everything you need is in the box
• switch on and it works!

Ideal for car parks, industrial estates, site entrances, hotels, golf clubs, leisure centres, hospitals, waste management sites, clubs, pubs and more.

Overseas Installations

Overseas Installations

Platinum Security offers a full installation service outside of the UK. Would you like to keep an eye on your overseas property/investment, or simply monitor your business premises on a daily basis? We can make this possible.

A simple system would include a Digital DVR with either covert or miniature Day/Night CCTV Cameras connected. Each Camera would be visible remotely using a Broadband ADSL connection. Alternatively, you may simply have an IP Dome Camera, with full PTZ control available over a Broadband Connection.

For more information please contact our offices. A Broadband Connection is required on site, with a static IP address.
