CCTV

CCTV, or Digital Closed Circuit Television, is the technology used in modern surveillance systems. Modern Digital CCTV Systems can be operated on site  or remotely via a pc or mobile phone, can monitor various locations and can be  monitored from wherever there is internet or GPRS Access. Currently the majority  of CCTV systems use Digital technology. Digital CCTV Surveillance uses current  PC technology to digitise the CCTV camera images and compress them into a PC  friendly format. These digital images can then be stored onto a standard PC Hard  Disk Drive.

There are 2 types of CCTV System

Analogue

analogue cam.png

Digital CCTV Video Recorders, (DVR), are stand-alone units that are capable of saving analogue CCTV Camera inputs to internal HDD storage.

Typically, up to 32 Analogue CCTV Cameras are connected to the back of the unit via standard CCTV Camera connection referred to as BNC. By connecting a CCTV Monitor  to the  DVR you are able to view your CCTV Cameras in different screen divisions (single  camera, 2×2, 3×3 etc) and also playback footage at the click of a mouse. Our DVR’s & NVR’s allow you to view live and retrieve previous recordings from anywhere in the world using a PC, Tablet or Mobile Phone.

Almost all DVR’s now have built in VMD, Motion Detection Technology. This means that digital footage is only recorded when someone or something  walks/moves in front of your CCTV Camera.

HD stands for High Definition, and SDI stands for Serial Digital Interface – a family of standardised, broadcast quality digital interfaces using BNC connectors.

Because of its origins in broadcast, the definition and picture quality of HD-SDI footage is noticeably higher than a standard analogue signal. Because it has been designed with the sole purpose of providing Megapixel, High Definition footage over standard co-ax cable, it is perfectly suited to CCTV, where the majority of existing systems use RG59 Coaxial Cable.

IP

IP CCTV Surveillance uses current PC technology to digitise the CCTV camera images and compress them into a PC  friendly format. These digital images can then be stored onto a standard PC Hard  Disk Drive.

As the digital CCTV images are stored onto a PC Hard Drive it is possible to store digital footage and access it speedily and easily using a LAN/WAN connection or remotely over broadband using a PC or Mobile Phone.

We specialise in the installation of sophisticated network digital recording systems with audio capability and an internal DVD/CD-RW Writer. The Hard Disc  Drive(s) can record images either continuously, by alarm trigger or via VMD, (video motion detection).

Email notification upon line crossing motion detection is just one of the many features possible.

Each Camera input record rate (frames per second) can be individually programmable and you can search for data by means of event, location or time/date simply by the click  of a button.

Each PC connected upon an internal LAN connection can view the CCTV Cameras and retrieve data. Connections are password protected and logged for added security.
